This what I think. Mary and David are married, well at least Snow and James are. They even had a daughter. Then the queen banished them to our world in which memories of David and Katheryn are married. Snow and James marriage was first making David’s and Katheryn’s invalid. Yes, I’m justifying it, and yes, since all they know is our world therefore it’s “cheating”, you know they’re suppose to be together, and you know after Emma fixes everything…
